How to bring back slides on the left

Jun 21, 2016

Hello,

I am new to this software and have faced with the following problem: I used to be able to see the slides that I was building in a story view on the left (one after another), pretty much like in PPT. However, for reasons that I don't know they suddenly disappeared and I can only see either only one slide in a story view or all of them as little icons in scenes. It's not convenient at all. Any suggestions how to bring them back?

Thank you!

Hey Svetlana.  I wanted to let you know, also, that our QA team has identified this inconvenience in the scenes panel.  I am attaching your discussion to their report.

I did some testing, and it seems that if you have multiple scenes, Storyline 2 will maintain the thumbnail size of the last scene you used to resize the scenes panel.  So, if you have a scene where all the thumbnails can comfortably fit in to the scenes panel at your preferred size, you can then use the scenes dropdown to navigate between scenes and avoid resizing the panel again.  That way, the thumbnails will stay at a reasonable size.  You may have to use the scroll bars to move around the scene (if your slides go horizontal due to your course navigation), but at least they are better visible.

I'm attaching a little video, as well, of the behavior I was seeing.  Just another approach to offer with Wendy's suggestion!

Thanks, Crystal! This video showed me the option that I had and which is
gone now.
What I have now is like "Main Content" in this video whereas what I used to
have was like "Question Bank" in this video.
However, what I have now is only "My project's name" and "Question Bank"
which shows nothing.
I have no idea what I clicked that made that slide view (view scenes) gone.

Hi Svetlana!  I took a look at your file.  I noticed how the icons in the scenes panel are small when you are looking at that Tea Project scene.  I was able to pull up Untitled Scene (2), and since it was just the one slide, I could resize the scene panel to make that thumbnail legible.  And then I changed the scene to Tea project, and those thumbnails were then legible.  Attaching a video of that process...

As far as the question bank, I'm guess that you might not have one set up yet?  Question bank in the scene panel is just there by default.

Does that help at all?
