How to change a button state to «disable»
Jan 31, 2013
Hi everyone!
I'm trying to change a button state to «disable» when I come back after visiting another page, but each try doesn't work : I always end up still being «able» to use that same button in the Preview Mode.
I tried two methods :
1) using a «true-false» variable to change the state of the button; maybe I'm doing it wrong, even though it looks simple to do... I change the variable from «true« to «false» when the user clicks the «go back» button on the 2nd page to return to the first page where the button is.
2) changing the state of the button to «disable» after I click on it (simpler method, still in vain)...
Strangely, those two methods work when I'm choosing the «selected» state instead of the «disable» or the «hidden» ones.
Cheers and thanks a lot for your help!!

Hello Carl,
Have you tried to see what happens when you change the order of your triggers?
I tried the 2nd method and it works, just make sure that the trigger to change state to disable is first on the list of triggers.
See attached.

Thank you so much Donna!!
I didn't know about the importance of listing the triggers in a particular order...!
Have a great day and thanks again for your patience!

Yep.. very important.. so take it into consideration especially when you start working on trigger-fest projects. hehehe..
Good luck!
Thank you Donna .. invaluable information ... maybe my headache will go away now :-)
Glad this older thread helped you out Martyn - and I did also want to share the information here on trigger order.
