I'm trying to change the background colour that appears on a web object. In Chrome, when I inspect the code, it says it's the body tag's on-load style (as shown in attached screen shot).
Is there a way for me to change this to white and/or transparent?
Thanks, Brian! Yeah, I did come across this solution in another thread, but it seems a little sloppy. I'll definitely do it as a last resort, but it seems like there should be a way to affect this colour somehow. It really affects how the page looks when using web objects.
I just want it to be white, so it blends in with the background colour of the page.
I haven't seen any other methods to change the coloring and it's not a current feature of Storyline to do so. Keep in mind, if you choose to modify the published output do so with caution as it's not something we can help with.
I do think being about to change the color would be a neat idea, and I can understand how that would make life easier. I think it would be worth telling our product team about it here!
Hi Alyssa... it's an html5 export from flash that has a white background. You can see in the attachment where the object ends, but it's padded with a grey background for some reason. The larger I stretch the web object, the more grey that shows wrapped around the white... it's not part of what I exported.
Thanks, Shela. I can't say I've ever seen gray padding like that before, so I'd be really interested in having a closer look at your file. Could you share it here? If you'd like to keep it private, use this form instead.
I apologize for the delay. With all of the excitement around the release of Storyline 360 and Storyline 3, we've received a lot more questions lately. My colleague Bret has taken your case, and you'll hear from him soon. Rest assured you're in good hands!
Thanks, Alyssa! No worries... that's understandable. I'm in touch with Bret, but so far he's stumped because other people don't experience having a grey box around the web object like I've experienced. He's looking into it... hoping to find a solution.
Thanks for the update, Shela! I popped in to your case, and I see Bret is looking into other options that could work for you. I'll keep following along!
Yer welcome! Bret did some digging and he suspects the problem might be how the files are being exported from Flash. I'm going to dig deeper and see if I can figure it out. I'll post an update once I have one.

Editing the published .html files using a text editor works, though your changes will be overwritten next time you publish your project.

Thanks, Ashley. So, if someone inserts a web object, there will always be that grey colour in the background?
Just want to make sure we're on the same page...
Hi Shela,
What kind of web object are you using? Does it have a transparent background?

Does that help?

Also, what version of Storyline are you using?
Sure... I'll use the form to attach the file. It's Storyline 360. I installed Articulate 360 Desktop app about 3 weeks ago.
Thanks for submitting your case to our team Shela :) You should be hearing from someone soon.
Hope so.. it's been 4 days since I submitted my case.

Awesome, thanks Shela!
