Hi Tracy!

We have a great document with all of our FAQs about upgrading from SL1 to SL2 and you can check that out here.

Your existing projects won't be changed unless you open them in Storyline 2. When you open an existing project in Storyline 2, you'll be asked to upgrade it.

Since upgraded projects aren't backward compatible, Storyline will automatically create a backup copy of the original project file in the same folder in case you ever need to go back to Storyline 1.

Hi Michael,

Unfortunately for me, I was just given a disk with the Storyline 1 products that were developed. I did not work with Storyline 1. If I switch to "All Files (*)" from the drop-down menu, I can see the story, but it won't open. If I choose, "All Storyline Projects (*.story, storytemplate)", then the story is not visible.

Any ideas?

Hi James! Looks like all of us may have been replying at the same time. Please note that replying to the forums via e-mail includes your signature. You are welcome to pop in and edit if needed.

You mention products that were developed and not being able to find any .story files. Are you looking at perhaps the published output? You will not be able to convert this back into a project form.
