How to count up Quiz points throughout multiple Response Slides

Jul 28, 2014

Currently I am working on an eLearning course which consists of 8 different chapters. Each chapter ends with 3 Quiz slides to answer. Each right answer gives one point! So in total there will be 24 points in the end and the participant hast to reach at least 18 points to pass the course. Now the participants don´t have to do the 8 different chapters in sequence. But they want to see their currently score, when they have finished on chapter. So e.g. they did chapter 1 and reached 2 points. Then they do chapter 5 and reach 3 points. But by now he already has reached 5 points in total and he wants to see it by finishing chapter 5. I hope, you know what I want. I want to count up the points and be able to not complete the chapters in sequence.

I actually found a way, but now I am not able to make a retry after each quetion anymore. I have absolutely no Idea what I did wrong.

What I did is, I put alle the questions from each chapter in each single request slide.

Do you have a ebetter Idea or is there some kind of workaround or trick?

I know, how to count up the requestslides at the end, but this is unfortunately not, what I need.

Thanks a lot for any response

Hi Bjorn,

I'm having a hard time following your set up...you'd like the user to see which they got correct and therefore calculate the score for the Results slide, and also a custom variable that is referenced throughout, but also be able to go back and retry the question?

Have you included one master results slide that is tracking all the quizzes or a results slide for each quiz? If you used a results slide for each quiz, you could make a final results slide which would allow you to include a "retry" button for each chapter - such as the method set up here. You'd still need to use your custom variable to show the score throughout the course and add a way to reset it or subtract those points when the user retakes the quiz.

Hope that helps, and if I'm misunderstanding please let us know!
