How To Create App for iPad By Using SL?

Jul 17, 2013

Hi All!

Can anyone show steps or tutorial creating an App for iPad by using SL.  Moreover I get confused, how to get the INSTALL button appears in App installation.  Does this has to be part of your iPad  first page and then linked to

file located on the DropBox etc.  I am new in SL and have never used effectively.  Any type of assistance

will be helpful and highly appreciated.  Thanks!

There is no publish option in Storyline to create an iOS app. For use on iPads you have two options:1. Publish your Storyline content for HTML5, which can then be viewed in the iPad's Safari browser2. Publish your Storyline content for HTML5 AND/OR for use with the Articulate Mobile Player app. If you really want to turn Storyline content into an iOS app, publish as HTML5 and then use a service like PhoneGap Build (https://build.phonegap.com/) to package the HTML5 content into an iOS app.

Thanks Michael for the quick reply.  When I build initial part of application in SL - Does that has to be (280x420) pixels size or iPhone or can I use different sizes and publishing in SL will do the magic for me. Secondly, in relation to PhoneGap, can you please suggest me any other applications so that I compare and sign up for their monthly subscription accordingly. Thanks again for all!

Hi Pummi, there are lots of threads in this forum that discuss the size considerations for iPad/Web/iPhone delivery, here is just one of those threads you may find useful. It's not so much about the correct size, as it is about the aspect ratio for your project.

From the top of my head I don't know of any other services similar to PhoneGap Build, but I'm sure there are others out there. One more note: remember that in order to create an iOS app, you need to register with Apple as a developer (if I remember correctly, it's $99/year) to obtain a developer certificate file and at least on provisioning profile that is required to 'compile' an app.
