Hi am creating a storyline course, i have taken out all default storyline uI buttons and hide UI area,. now i want to create buttons and use it as ui buttons , like nex, previous, audio on and off. play ,plause, resources, glossery, help, exit, page numbers, .please any one help how to do this.
The only way to do this is to build them on the slide, it is not possible to trigger the resources and glossary tabs via triggers, there is a SDK being developed but it is not available yet
yeah phill, i am not sure about glossary but resources we can create.
is any option i can create next ,back, menu with the help of slide master, i mean i wanna controll only in one place,i dont wanna create a trigger in each slide.
again play ,pause ,audio on and off. all this function i think i have to create it in each slides.please suggest me if am wrong and if you have any links then please share with me. thanks
Thanks Peter, yes i have gone through this link before , play pause i did through with help of blank layer but it wont pause the pop up audios. its only pause the base layer. :-( there is so much limitations in Storyline,:-( and about audioits only support in pc, it wont support in iPad, i mean audio mute function. :-(
why would you want a custom UI on an ipad, the very nature of the iPad is that it is a fullscreen experience. It has control buttons for audio. And gestures are built into the mobile app.
I tried to create resources button into my course, and attaching link as file, but when i uploaded to web LMS and access the link prompt Http 404 error, Please assist.

Hello Issa! Thanks for the additional details. Do you experience the same issue if you test the content in SCORM Cloud or is the issue within your LMS? This thread has a similar conversation that may be able to assist you as well.

you may be able to put them in a slide master, I end up just copying and pasting across all the slides
But how we can controll play pause , audio on and off function globally .?
Play pause of the slide could be controlled by showing a blank layer and audio on/off by using Steve Fowers example he posted, sorry dont have a link
Thanks.
can you please explain me hot to do play pause function in storyline with the help of blank layer
you can set a layer to pause the base layer, its a kludge because you can only pause the base layer
Then what is the solution ? is any option i can create play pause button in storyline?
Hi Sinchu,
Probably not exactly what you're hoping for (which would require some work), but just wanted to share a couple links that you may find helpful:
Here's how you can create a custom toggle button to play and pause a video or an audio track in Storyline. Should give you some ideas.
And here's Steve's custom mute toggle.

The SDK when released should help,

Hi Issa,
This discussion is a bit older, so I don't know that the two things connect but I'd love to help!
What version of Storyline are you using? When you said resource button - do you mean the player button?
Are you publishing for web or LMS? Where are you uploading the content to test it?
