I've tried a few things, such as setting a preset value into a variable, but the user experience is wonky.
Is there a way to post selectable text in a text box for the user to select and then paste later on in another slide? This is software demo where there is a generated URL that created with a button click. I can fake the generated URL, but I need it to be selectable. - thx!
Oooh! That's smart! So far, it seems my variable with a preset value is working in my SCORM object, though it is wonky in Preview. I will do a few more tests with other computers/browsers and if it doesn't work well enough, I will try your method. Good thinking, and thanks!

This may not work for you, but one option is to display text in a web object which then can be copied & pasted. Here is a quick example.
