That sounds great! Will "format paint" allow me to transfer my updated custom states to other buttons? If so, how exactly do I do that?
Also, I'm having some trouble finding where the glow effect is in the formatting options - there's a blue color to the glow, and I don't see that color anywhere in the shadows, outlines, or fill. ?
Well hell's bells, wish I'd known about this YEARS AGO! Thanks so much Phil! Format Paint is saving me from recreating about 80 buttons! :-)
So under Format Shape is where I'm looking - I Edit State, choose Selected, then go to Format Shape - I've got Fill, Line, Shadow, Picture, Text Box options. In none of them do I see a Glow effect - it looks to me like it's a shadow effect, but I have a black shadow on my buttons. I can't figure out where the blue color is coming from?
On the home tab, under shape effect on the right is the glow states
Got it. Thanks again Phil!
Hmm, although when I select that while editing "Selected" state (which is where the glow shows up) it is showing No Glow selected. Enh, hopefully it's not that big a deal to the client. :-)
You have to select the button, go to states and click on edit states. While in the editing states mode, click on the selected state of the button and choose no glow option from shape effects > Glow, under the format tab. And then click on done editing states and you're good to go :)
You have to remove the glow while in the editing mode that's it.

All button states should be able to be edited - select the object and edit it in the 'State" tab.
there is no halo in states and I've never puted it in there, which is the case. It appears automaticly if I create a Button Set..
Can you post your file?

It should keep your custom states, the glow is under the format shape options at the bottom.
