How to get the initial value for numeric entry fields

Hi,

I am creating an e-learning course for my internship. There is quite a big exercise in the course where the student needs to fill in numeric entry fields. The entire exercise works. However, in the preview 6 of the 32 numeric entry fields show a 0, while the other entry fields are blank.

I checked the variable panel and all of the numeric entries have a default value of 0. So I can't figure out why some of them show a 0 and others are blank. Also, because all the entries are copies of each other. 

It does not matter to me if all the numeric entries will be blank or show a 0, as long as they are all the same. 
Let me know if you can think of a solution!
