how to import layouts?

Hello,
I have been working on a project using template A until today - I imported a new template B. Now I want to change the layout of my slides from Template A to Template B. I know that if the layouts were already there, you can always right click on the slide, and then choose "layout". Then you should be able to change the layout.
However, since template B wasn't there when I first started this project, I couldn't seem to find a way to add the layouts of template B to the right click option.
Can someone teach me how to do it?
Thanks.

Hello Maggie,
If the files are .storytemplate files, you should be able to save them to your local drive, and they should appear when you insert a new slide. If these are .story files, you could use the Import/Storyline option under the File tab and import the slide with the layout you need. This can then be copied into a Slide Master.
Hello Emily,
Thanks for your response. I know how to import template and I have already done that - I already have both template A and template B in my slide master view, and I am able to insert a new slide with both templates.
My question is: how can I change the layout of an existing slide, by right clicking on it and then choose the layout from the newly imported template B?
Thanks.
Hi Maggie,
If both the templates are in the Slide Master, you can use the Layout drop down under the Home Tab, or you can use the right click method as you shared.
Hi Emily,
My question is: I have both templates in Slide Master, but I do not see the newly imported template B's layouts on the Layout drop down under the Home Tab, neither they appear on the right click pop-up.
Notice I imported template B after I had started the project with template A.
Thanks.
Hello Maggie,
Do you have a file you can share with us?
Hi Emily,
Please see the attached zip file for the story file and the two template files.
Thanks.
Hi Maggie,
I took a look at the file, and I do not see that all of the slides from the templates are saved in the Slide Masters. The slides from Template B, I only see that one of them was saved into a master. You would need to insert these as slides, and copy the items into a slide master in order to use them from the drop down.
Hi Emily,
I just did what you taught me and it worked. Thanks so much for your help!
Glad to help Maggie :)
