If you create a Question layout on your Slide Master, then the question imported from the Excel spreadsheet should automatically have that layout applied. 

Here's an example of the Question Layout:

Maria -- thanks.  This is close, but one layout won't always work for all of the question types in the Excel template.  Also, I've noticed that when I try this approach, even if the model slide is using theme fonts, the text on the incoming slides does not.  May just be a bug.  I'm still on 3.54.25674.0.

Leslie -- Hi. Thanks for posting this.  I may be explaining this poorly.  I think I'm trying to get Storyline to do some of my development work.  If I have 10 different question types, I might have 10 layouts.  Rather than apply those layouts after the import, I was hoping I could map the question type column to my project and have this piece automated.  You're correct -- the theme/style  information is coming across, but it's applied across the board.
