I am trying to develop a educational game and have set the baselayer timeline for 5 minutes. The learner can click on lightbox references for hints throughout the 5 minutes. However, the timeline does not advance when the lightbox is selected. I have tried putting the lightbox on a layer and the base layer. I want the timeline to keep advancing during the click-and-drag activities and the lightbox hints - in other words - no matter what. Does anyone know how to do this?
You might have already tried this, but I wanted to double check. When you build your lightbox on a layer, be sure that Pause Timeline of Base Layer is unchecked on your slide layer properties.
Thank you very much for getting back to me. The timeline advances fine when I place my 'hint' slides as layers and create my own buttons, and yes - thanx for the reminder 'Pause timeline of base layer' option in your post - it is not checked - always good to double check. I was hoping to somehow get the lightbox feature to work. I tried it from both the base layer and a layer (checked the layer option, and yes the 'pause timeline' was not selected - to see if I could get the timeline to continue advancing - but cannot get that to work when using lightbox. Perhaps that is the benefit of the lightbox - it automatically stops the timeline. So, I will just make my own 'hint' layers to keep my timeline advancing.
Thanks for popping in to share an update, Donna! You're absolutely right - lightboxes pause the timeline of a slide, so layers would be a better option for what you are looking to do. I'm glad you were able to make it work!

And just in case, here's a little more information about working with slide layers.
Let me know if this works for you!
