How to play a Storyline course from a thumb drive
Nov 20, 2015
Hi all,
I have published a course on Storyline, and saved the zipped file to a thumb drive. When I click on the story.html file, it opens a web browser and nothing happens. Literally, a blank screen. When I tried to open the other files, I got the "Browser unsupported." It's a Chrome document, and I use Chrome as my default browser, so I'm not sure what that's all about.
I need to be able to play this course from a computer that does not have Storyline, and in an area that does not have internet. Is that possible?
Also, in case we do get internet before the course is needed, how do I get the story.html file to work?
Many thanks!
Teresa

publish to CD and run the exe file from the USB stick.
If you explore the zipped file in Windows 7 or higher, it will allow you to see the files within the zipped folder. In fact, you can double click one of them and run it, but when that file tries to access another zipped file, it cannot. that's why you have to follow Phil's suggestion.
Hi Teresa,
Additionally if you do have access to the internet at some point, you'd need to publish for web and upload the course to a web server to be able to utilize the story.html file.
Thank you all! So if I have a course that I published for an LMS, can I just copy that zipped file to a thumb drive and run the exe file from that?
There is only an exe file if you publish for CD
Ok, thank you! :)
