If you're wanting to stop audio based on a variable, then you'll want to add a trigger to stop audio when timeline starts IF variable is equal to (whatever your variable is, True/False, etc.).
When timeline starts may or may not be the best option here, it depends on how you're building your course.

When timeline starts may or may not be the best option here, it depends on how you're building your course.
If you use a trigger to stop media, it should not start until another trigger causes it to start.
Optionally, you can adjust where on the timeline an audio enters the timeline, and it won't play until the timeline reaches that point.
This audio begins playing 3 seconds after the slide starts.
If neither of those methods works, Attach your .story file here by clicking on the ADD ATTACHMENT button, and maybe somebody can take a look at it.
