I am using text entry to get the email ID but its showing scroll, can we prevent that scroll? instead of going text on next line it should go onth e same line.
Hi, Ravindra -- Wendy's suggestion should absolutely do the trick for you, but if you'd like more info on Using the Size and Position Window, I wanted to be sure to provide it. Please let us know if you need anything more.
I am having the same problem: scrolbars in textentryfields that I don't want. I don't get the solution. I want the learner to be able to type 3 lines in a textentryfield defined as100x 590 px en fontsize calibri 16. Where do I unable the scrolbarappearance. I losing tons of time not getting it solved. Please help me.
The scrollbar will appear if the learner types too much text in a text entry field. There isn't a way to limit the number of characters in a text entry field, but you could use an Essay survey question instead. That way, you'll be able to limit the maximum number of characters and prevent the scrollbar from appearing. Just format the layout Essay slide to match the slide in your screenshot, and replace the Submit button with Prev/Next buttons. I hope that helps!
Are you noticing that you're able to type more than the maximum number of characters? What did you set as your maximum number? Also, what version of Storyline are you using?
I managed to solve it by using the surveyslide when there is one question
on a slide. When there are more questions on a slide I read that using the
free format slide worked okay. This has a maximum for typing text and I
could copy and paste it to all open questions on one slide. Better! Thanks
for the idea and the tip I read on the site of the community.
When you say "after you remove them, they come back, depending on the browser", do you mean they come back only after published, or do you see them in Preview as well when re-opening the project?
How do you have your text boxes set up (see screenshot below for an example)?
If you have a sample .story file where scroll bars are returning after you remove them, can you share it through a support case so we can continue to investigate?

Resize the size of the shape until the scroll disappears or reduce the size of the text to fit the shape

Thank you for this suggestion. But the maximum in this Essay slide doesn't seem to work. I can type more than the maximum? How does it work exactly?

Wonderful--glad you found a solution that works for you!
However, after you remove them, they come back, depending on the browser.
Automatic scrollbars are an accessibility nightmare: I've spent hours fixing, then re-fixing them after they reappear.
Hi, Daniel.
