How to Randomize a Quiz while having 2 questions Always display but NOT as the first two?

Apr 23, 2019

Hello everyone :)

I think I'm stuck on a very basic setting of Storyline 360...

My objective is to build a quiz with 15 questions randomly draw from a pool of 30 questions and force two questions to be always displayed.

So far so good.

I've created my 30 slides of questions and imported them into the Question Bank.

At this point, I've decided that among the 15 randomly selected questions, I want to always include 2 that are very important.

Here is were I got stuck.

As soon as I select the "Always" display option for these 2 questions, they are indeed always displayed, but always as the first 2 questions in the list of 15!

How can I de-select this setting? I want the 2 questions to be randomly displayed among the other 13... why would I want them always first in a randomized quiz? XD

Thank you for any help :)

Hello Valentina and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are running into with your randomized question bank.

We do have this issue reported. The issue is specific to:

  1. Question Bank
  2. Questions set to Always
  3. Questions set to Always are displaying first and in the order listed

I'll attach this conversation to the report as we track user impact and so that we can share updates with you as well.

The only workaround at this time would be to break up the question banks for more random content.
