How to show a button when second time enter the slide (a conditonal trigger to hide the button)

Jun 04, 2016

Morning,

I'm a beginner studying storyline and I have a question as below:

I add a conditional trigger that is, the learner must read all the buttons in a slide then  "back button" being shown. I made it but when I second time to enter this slide. the "back button" can't show. What should I do?

Thanks

Hi, Mimi -- Thanks for reaching out, and I thought I might stop in to welcome you to the community! Glad to see that Brian was able to assist you, and as you mentioned you are still in the learning stages with Storyline 2, I thought I might stop in to share the following resources that may help get you up to speed:

Hope that helps and let us know if you need anything more! :)

question again~ sorry for my too much question again~

I want to set a conditional Trigger to "back" button in a slide, this is - the "back" button shown after all animations complete

I know i have to add trigger to hide the "back" button first as below:

Change state of / Back Button/ Hidden/Timeline starts/ Back

and then I need to add another Trigger to let the "Back" button appear after all animations in a slide done. However, I don't know how to do

Change state of / Back Button/ Normal/ Animation complete/?

Hi Christie, I'm so appreciated for your help~ I may keep asking so many silly questions as I have to build-up a E-learning training with my very limited knowledge.....

I already made a conditional trigger to hide the "Back" button and I want the "Back" auto show after complete of the animation of the sentence "Transaction of $250,000 or greater". However, I don't know what should I do..

Mimi,

I think this may be what you want.

The trigger to hide Back 2 should initiate when the timeline of the slide starts, not when the timeline of the Back 2 button starts,

Loggable_D needs to change the state of Back 2 to normal when the entrance animation completes. It also needs to set the variable DefinitionsComplete to TRUE when the animation completes, so the Back 2 button will be visible when you return to this slide.

Then the trigger that hides the Back 2 button needs a condition, so it only hides the button if the variable DefinitionsCompleted is not TRUE (definitions have not been completed.)

If you are going to use this interaction in other places in the project, each one of them needs a unique variable.

I have a question~

I want to build up an e-learning which consist of five tabs (e.g. Tab A, Tab B, Tab C, Tab D, Tab E)eash tab consist of several points (eg. In Tab A, there are point 1, point 2, point 3 which are link to other slides) and learner is required to go-through all the points in each tab.

Is it possible for storyline  to control learner:  brower Tab A (all the points), then available to go to Tab B (all the points)  then Tab C (all the points) .....?

Here is a sample that does that. The restricted navigation only shows the button for slide two after the user returns from slide one. From slide one, you can branch to as many different slides or activities as you wish. Just be sure to use the triggers on slide one on the lst slide before returning to the menu.
