How to show answers in matching drag and drop slides?

Oct 19, 2017

I recently built a matching drag and drop slide in Storyline 360, and would love to reveal the correct answers after two failed attempts.

I set up a work-around by taking a screenshot of the correct matches and triggering that to display after two failed attempts, but is there a better way to make Storyline reveal the correct choices?

Hi Laurel!

That's an interesting question thanks for posting it here in the E-Learning Heroes forum. As of right now, I don't believe there is a default way to have the matching quiz slide reveal the correct answers. But you can use the feedback layers to put any information you want on it, as you've done. I do think your solution is probably as good as any and easy to do.

Freeform drag-and-drop slides do provide a bit more freedom and flexibility in terms of what you can do with the interaction because they can use these handy drag-and-drop states, which change how a drag items looks when its either correct or incorrect. That would HELP to let learners know what are the answers, but obviously still wouldnt completely solve the issue. But anyways freeforms might also be something to look into to expand your capabilities with your matching drag-and-drops . Here's an article I actually recently wrote about working with Storyline drag-and-drops... if you haven't seen it, it might be helpful! :)
