How to trigger layer from Markers?

Aug 05, 2014

Hi All.

This piggy-backs from the previous post, but I will post it here since it is a new thread.

I'd like the layer to show once all the markers have been hovered on. It does, but when the last marker that the sure is hovering on for info is started, it jumps to the layer without the user having seen the content.

Not sure how else to do this? I am sure it is something probably so small that eludes me. Any help will be great! Thanks in advance!

Hi Kai,

I did play around with this and also did some searching but the only thing I could come up with was to add another "element." For example, add a checkbox that says "click here when you've finished reading...". The checkbox could be disabled until all the markers were visited.

When all are visited, the checkbox becomes available. Learner clicks and the layer displays. See attached.

Thought perhaps someone would have an approach that didn't require an extra click.

Thanks RFC !! Until Articulate can come up with a logical way to call the layer this is a work around that I tried to avoid. Maybe there is one already?! I appreciate you looking into this.

I hope you have not been waiting for an answer for 2 years, Kai, but in case someone else is searching, I'll throw one of my ideas out there.

To accomplish what you were describing, I have overcome the need for an extra click, by using triggers to pause the timeline on the base layer, and resume when all the markers have been hovered over. Then simply put a short delay (depending how much information is there to read), and have the layer show when the timeline reaches a certain time. It isn't perfect, but it works in some of my applications.
