How to use demos and simulations

Jul 17, 2013

Hey team, I am working on an online module that includes program demos and simulations. The programs I am capturing contain personal and cofidential information that will ned to be blurred out. Has anyone had any practice with this type of work? If so, how did you accomplish it?

This may help you.  Just some ideas.  I discovered during one or two of my first Storyline recordings of the step-by-step "View Mode" screencasts there was an intermittent Javascript type message appearing on some of the slides that were generated and I had saved as a 'view scene'.  Not throughout all of the slide frames, but generally in the very beginning frame of the first slide and the beginning of another slide further into the recording.  What I did to hide it was to add a 'shape' (in my case a plain rectangle, not a caption which would include a textbox by default), then remove the border and change the fill to white (or whatever color fill works with your recording's screencast background.  My software has a white background, so this hid the JS message completely and I am thinking would work well for your slides.

Just remember to modify the new coverup shape's timing to go to the end of the slide, so it doesn't suddenly "reveal" the data underneath it before the slide transitions to the next.
