HTML 5 and lower browsers

If I build a course or quiz in HTML 5, will it be useable / viewable by those that don't have HTML 5 browsers?

Hi Jo-Anne,

With Storyline, you have the option to publish to Flash, HTML5, and to iOS via the Articulate Mobile Player.  If the browser supports Flash, we'll play the Flash version of the content.  If the browser doesn't support Flash, we'll redirect them to the other content versions depending upon their device.  For more information on this, see the link below:

Thanks.

Is it possible to not even include the Flash option when publishing?  We have users now with the regular articulate wraps and quizzes

and the Flash has been problematic.  I'd like to publish it in non Flash somehow to not even have to deal with their varying versions, workstation issues, etc.

Thanks again,

Jo

Hi Jo-Anne,

It's not currently possible to publish without the Flash enabled.  Instead of linking the user to the story.html file, you could link them to the story_html5.html file.  Keep in mind that not every browser supports HTML5 and they only support it to varying degrees:

Right now, Storyline's HTML5 output is supported in Chrome 14 & later and Safari 5.1 and later.  Also, here's a list that shows you which features are supported in the various output options:

Therefore, if your browser supports the Flash Player, that's where you'll get the best experience.  For more information on the requirements to view content published in Storyline, see the link below:
