HTML5 and the Missing Font Issue

Sep 24, 2019

My organization recently upgraded from Storyline 2 to Storyline 3, and we have been experiencing the "missing fonts" phenomenon when viewing our modules in Internet Explorer ever since. We've trying changing to different fonts, only to have the spacing mess up instead.

After trying numerous "experiments", I finally got everything to work perfectly! Everything displays correctly across all browsers when I publish using the format "Flash with HTML5 fallback" INSTEAD of the recommended "HTML5 with Flash fallback".

We were very excited to discover this fixed the problem. However, knowing that Flash is being phased out, we know this won't be a permanent fix.

It appears the font issue has been going on for years. What is the latest on where this stands? Is the HTML5 going to be able to correctly display text without asking our thousands of viewers to make browser changes?

Hi Michelle!

I hear what you're saying! I'm happy to dig deeper into this issue. Are you seeing this in all browsers? If so, which browsers have you viewed the course in and notice the font missing?
