HTML5 and white flashes
Oct 08, 2013
Hi there,
I'm currently trying to publish my course out of Storlyine. The Flash version works great but I'm really after a stable HTML5 version. However, everytime I publish my course in HTML5 there is always a white flash that occurs at the beginning/end of every slide. I've tried to run the project in Chrome, Safari and IE9 but I get the same results no matter what. Also the in/out animations of objects jump and are not smooth. This doesn't happen in the Flash version so I'm a bit suck. Has anyone come across this before and if so any solutions?
Many thanks.
Kevin

Good Afternoon Kevin, and welcome to Heroes!
Some HTML5 flickering is known to occur when changing layers on a slide, although Storyline Update 2 reduced the impact of this problem.
If you're still having trouble, could you send us a copy of your .story project file for a closer look? Thanks!
Thanks for the reply Justin.
I've managed to eliminate all the white flickering on desktop and iPad now, everything is running smoothly in iOS in that sense. I have found another small issue with iPad html5 courses. If I export a course out using Storyline update 2 my course will sit nicely in iOS safari, however, exporting the same course using Storyline update 3 means that the course no longer resizes to iOS safari and the next/prev buttons are cropped. This is possibly due to my custom Story size in my course. I've found a way round this however, by editing the Storyline_compiled.js file after publishing but thought this should be drawn to your attention.
Many thanks.
Kevin
Hi Kevin! Glad to hear that you got the first issue resolved Now, about the second one you've mentioned. Assuming that you have iOS7 installed, we are aware of this issue and our QA Team is working to resolve this.
