HTML5 Audio Issues

Mar 17, 2016

I am having difficulties with a project where the audio is working fine on the computer, but when testing on Apple devices it’s random on whether or not it will work. We’ve found that it tests effectively on some Apple devices, such as iPhone 6 and iPad Air, but it doesn’t seem to work on all of them. We tested through the HTML5 file on Safari without the Storyline player and all of the devices we've used are on iOS 9.2.1. I currently have the most updated version of Storyline 2. I’ve tried changing the audio to the suggested Storyline specs (16 bit 44 KHZ PCM WAV) but that didn’t seem to solve the issue.

Does anyone have any ideas on what else can be done to make sure it plays on all devices at all times? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Siarah -- Thanks for reaching out and sorry for your difficulties! First, I wanted to be sure to share this info on Publishing for Mobile Devices and also this info on System Requirements for Viewing Content. And please feel free to share your file if you'd like us to take a closer look, or if privacy is a concern, you are welcome to use this form. :)

Hi Christie! Thank you for the information. I will definitely submit my project through that form. I've already gone through the device specs, minimum requirements, etc. and have run countless tests for the past few months but we are still experiencing the same problems on multiple projects. I've reached out to other extremely experienced Storyline developers and they also don't have an answer. I've spent countless hours reading through other discussion posts where others have this same problem and there doesn't seem to be a solution for any of them as well. At this point, it is costing our company a significant amount of money for a problem that doesn't seem to be solvable.
