HTML5 Design Mode?
Jan 16, 2013
Hi,
I'm wondering if there's a way to turn off the features that are not HTML5-compliant while building in Storyline. If I know I have to publish my course in HTML5, it would be great to indicate that when I start my project and then not be able to use the features that won't work correctly. At the very least, it would be nice to get a warning if I try to add an element, such as a .swf file, that won't play properly.
Thanks!

Rachel,
There's not an HTML5 mode. But that sounds like a great idea, if you'd like to submit a feature request.
In the meantime, here is a list of considerations for HTML5.

I agree that would be a useful feature. Captivate 6 has an 'HTML5 tracker' window that lists all the elements and interactions that will not be converted to HTML5. That helps to check before publishing, but it would be better if features not supported in HTML5 are greyed out or generate a warning during authoring.
HI Mike, the feature support list considerations for HTML5 is very useful, and essential to refer to when planning a new project. Is there a downloadable version available at all?
Hi Frances,
I don't believe so.

Hi Frances! Glad that this thread was able to assist you here. We do not have a download version of this documentation. We just share the articles and tutorials online.
OK, thanks for your reply. Cheers Frances
