HTML5 Display issues - Blackboard?

Mar 10, 2014

I'm having an issue where text that I've placed inside of boxes is not displaying properly in the HTML5 version of the output that I'm placing into Blackboard. It's happened across both IE9 and the latest Chrome version.

I've attached a printscreen of the issue and the original story file.

I upload the full output into Blackboard (v9 sp13) and then link directly to the HTML5 file from an item in blackboard, rather than uploading it as scorm. Could this have any effect?

Hi Nathalie and welcome to Heroes!

Thanks for sharing the image and your .story file here with us. I took a look at this and experienced the same behavior in your course when I uploaded it to SCORM Cloud and tested it on my iPad. (You can see that version here).

I played around in a new file a bit to see what was causing the behavior, and it seems to only impact those shapes which have a shadow applied and the text is typed directly into the shape itself instead of within a new text box overlaying the shape. I have reported the issue to our QA team, although I don't have a time line to share in regards to when I'll hear back from them or a fix, so I'd suggest using the work around of creating text boxes over the shapes or removing the shadow elements.

Hi Nathalie,

We're always happy to take a look and in this scenario it was definitely something we'd want to share with our QA team. I don't have a time frame to offer in regards to a fix, so please continue to use the workaround of the text boxes although not ideal. When I have information to share I'll update this thread.
