HTML5 issues from Storyline 2

Jul 01, 2015

I've produced an e-learning demo which uses MP3 audio and MP4 video (though not on the same screens). Published flash version plays absolutely fine, but when outputting to iPad (HTML5) the program plays well until the screen after the first video clip - I then lose all the subsequent audio from the following screens until I reach the next video clip (which includes audio) which plays Ok as well. Anyone have any tips for getting round this issue please?

Hi Andy,

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your HTML5 output, and I'd want to first check that you were viewing the published output within the intended environment as detailed here and then using a supported browser for HTML5 as documented in this article. If so, and you're still having difficulty we'll want to take a look at the .story file and how it behaves on our end.

Hi Ashley.

I'm viewing the file which has been uploaded to our web development site on an iPad 2 in OS8.4 Safari browser.  All my audio files are MP3 and video files are MP4. Unfortunately, I'm not able to upload the file for confidentiality reasons, but I have experienced this issue before from other outputs so I'm guessing its an HTML5 issue rather than something in my file. I'll do some more testing at this end to see if I can clear the problem.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Andy,

If you'd prefer to share privately you can send along to our support engineers here, and they can sign an NDA if needed. Or if you're able to mock up an example that demonstrates how you've set up and spaced out audio, video and the elements which aren't playing we could use that to take a look as well. Let us know if additional troubleshooting on your end reveals anything further.
