Hey Sara - Sorry to hear that you ran into difficulty with this.

Without seeing your file, here are my first thoughts:

  • Are you viewing in a supported viewing environment
    • Mobile: Safari in Apple iOS 7 and later, Google Chrome (latest version) in Android OS 4.1 and later
  • Are you able to replicate the behavior in SCORM Cloud or is it limited to your LMS?

If you need us to take a look at the .story file, feel free to share.

Hi Sara!  We're happy to help you out.

Does your course play properly from SCORM Cloud?  We have a great article on how to test your content using SCORM Cloud (the SCORM Cloud page will look slightly different since they updated).

Can you share your .story file with us for testing?  You can use the Add Attachment button in this discussion, or send us your file privately in a case.

Hi again, Sara.  Thanks for including your .story file!

I published your file for LMS, including the HTML5 output, and I hosted it here on SCORM Cloud.  Does the course play for you from my link?

This is how it looked on my iPhone SE in Safari:

And in Chrome:

Try this:  Republish your project, include HTML5 output, and be sure the Articulate Mobile Player is unchecked.

Sometimes a reboot does the trick.

If your course still doesn't play from SCORM Cloud either, we can work with you on repairing Storyline.  It sounds like something is missing in the publishing process.

Thanks for getting back to me, Sara!

If your LMS allows you to choose the launch file, you can link directly to the index_lms_html5.html file.

On mobile devices, your course should default to that version anyway, since Flash Player isn't supported.

The course played from my link in Chrome on my iPhone.  I am on version 57.0.2987.137 of mobile Chrome.

  • What version of Chrome is your iPhone using?
  • What version of the iPhone do you have?
  • Can you share the .zip of your published output?

We'll try to replicate your environment and use your published output to see why it isn't working in Chrome on your phone!

Here is the .zip file and also it doesn't work on chrome and safari when we upload it on our LMS.

by the way we use moodle, is there any problem using it also?

by the way Moodle doesn't support to choose the start page swf or HTML5, can we edit the .XML file to change the path of the start page? and if it is okay, how we can do this ?

Hi Sara!  Thanks for the zipped output.

When I loaded your version into SCORM Cloud, it would not show the slide content, as you described.

When I published your .story file, my version played normally.  Something must be happening during your publishing process that is breaking the course.

Were you able to repair Storyline and republish your course?  Follow the steps in the repair article, reboot and republish your course.

Let me know if that works better.

Hello Sara - Sorry to hear this is still causing you trouble.

Were you able to take a look at the published output that Crystal shared above? Did it play as expected for you?

Could you test uploading your newly published output to SCORM Cloud and see if it works as expected there?

If so, you may need to look to your LMS for further assistance.

Using a trial should not affect the result. It is the full version minus a license.
