HTML5 publishing problem

Jun 17, 2012

I have just created a very simple short test course consisting of three short MP4s generated in Camtasia at 708x540 resolution.  My goal is to produce a course that can work well on desktop and mobile devices and is tracked in our LMS.

I have published it on the LMS but it will not play on either iPhone4 or Windows Phone 7.5.  It plays on the desktop with no problem.  The same happens if I publish for the web (i.e I am trying to exclude possible problems with the LMS).

I have published one of the MP4s which plays correctly from the web server via Windows Phone 7.5 (I have not tried iOS).

What am I doing wrong? I know there is a resolution limit with iPhone3/G but the resolution is well within the limits of the IPhone 4.  There must be some issue with the player but I do not know what!

Hi Peter,

Thanks.  I do have it working now (sort of). I have tested working on iPad and iPhone 4 (briefly) but it does not work on Windows Phone 7.5.

The problems that I am trying to solve are:

1. On the iPad when I advance to a new slide the page scrolls to the top so you have to scroll down again.

2. When run in a Squeezebox ("dim lights") the course is offset (iPad); might be an LMS issue

3. I have not really tested it yet on an iPhone but in view of the screen size it is going to be difficult to read the drop-down menu (unless pinch-zoom works).

I'll set up a couple of demos and pm you access to them on the test course if you would like; I would appreciate your comments.
