HTML5 SCORM v1 output

Jul 03, 2014

Hello all,

Newbie here. My organisation already has an LMS in place which is SCORM v1 compliant. Currently we have over 250 Ecourses online, all of which are flash based. Our LMS runs on mobile platforms, but the content doesn't, as flash is no longer supported on android 4.0+ now (we distribute company owned tabs across our organisation, and all of them are currently on android 4.2.2).

I wanted to know that if I make a course on storyline, will it give its output in HTML SCORM compliant format so that I can publish it on our existing LMS and make it run across devices? Is there any limitation while giving ouptut in HTML format over flash in Storyline (some elements of storyline cannot be used in the course if output is required in HTML?). Can I get a hold of some sample output in HTML SCORM format so that I can try and see if it runs fine on our LMS before buying Storyline?

Hi Rahul and welcome to Heroes!

A lot of great questions here about getting started with Storyline, and our HTML5 support. First off, prior to purchasing Storyline you're welcome and encouraged to take advance of the 30day free trial. You could publish output and place it within your LMS to see how things would behave and what elements you may need to consider. If you run into particular questions during the trial - you can reach out for assistance here in the forums or you're also welcome to connect with our support engineers.

Now, on to your specific questions. I'd begin by reviewing this chart which compares Storyline's Flash, HTML5 and mobile player output and what features are supported/not supported.   Our team has also published a set of helpful articles here on optimizing your HTMl5 content

We also do not currently support Android platforms, but if you'd like to see future support for Android, please feel free to share your thoughts in the form of a feature request. This tutorial deals with specifically items you'll want to keep in mind for publishing for iPad and HTML5 deployment.

Hope that these help get you started and if you have any questions, just let us know!
