HTML5 screen cast and audio sink

Jul 15, 2013

Hello,

I have recorded a screen reording without audio and want to add voice or audio after.  The problem is I need to be able to output to HTML5 for the Ipad.  When i do this the video needs to be "clicked" by the user to get it started and thus if the student does not click the video right away the video and timeline that the audio is on will not sink.  Just wondering if there is any workarounds for this other than adding the audio by some third party resource to the video and then importing it back in.

Is the user "clicking" on the Video itself the only way to start a video on an ipad when using HTML5?

Thanks!

Howdy Chad,

Without seeing your project, I think you should be able to have a trigger that will play the audio when the video starts. You may need to adjust things some, maybe include some silent seconds in front so that it and the video will sync together.

Take a look at this thread. One thing to keep in mind, is that with both video and audio playing separately of each other at the same time, there may be issues on the iPad depending upon which version and the version of iOS being used as well. Here's a kb article to better explain what I am talking about.

Always Happy to Help,

Adrian
