html5 video player - allowfullscreen

Oct 03, 2016

I am embedding code into SL to stream a hosted video.  I'm using the vendor's fallback code because SL won't accept the standard code.  The player options for the video are in the vendor's code and we have the option to allowfullscreen in the code.  However, when we play the video in the published course the full screen option is not available in the video player.  The allowfullscreen option is in the embeded code, however after the course is published we don't have the option; the allowfullscreen code seems to be altered in the publishing process.

Question:  How do you recommend that we get the full screen option on our player?  It appears something is happening the iframe code when the course is published.

Hi J P!

When you embed videos from websites, such as YouTube and Vimeo, in Storyline 2 courses, you may find the fullscreen button for these videos is either missing or doesn't work in your published output.

For security reasons, many web browsers are now restricting fullscreen mode for embedded iframe content.

We provided a programmatic solution for this issue in Update 10 for Storyline 2. Install the latest version of Storyline 2 to take advantage of the new features and fixes, then republish your course.

Note: Some LMSs, such as SCORM Cloud, don't allow website videos to toggle into fullscreen mode.
