I added a progress meter to the master slide...works great, but now other triggers won't work???

Mar 26, 2015

Hello!

I'm brand new to Storyline, but with the help of this wonderful community, I was able to add a progress meter to the master slide of my course.  The problem that I can't seem to solve is now the state change that shows a section of the course has been completed doesn't work.  I removed all of the triggers from the master and the state change now works, so the problem is with the triggers that I added to the master slide in the creation of the progress meter.  I would love your help in solving this problem.

Thanks Ashley!  Here is the course with the progress meter.

The menu slide has triggers that change the state of the section to "completed" once the learner has viewed those slides.  It also has a slide layer that should become visible when the learner has completed all sections of the course.  Those triggers stopped working after I added the progress meter.

Hi Maggie,

First, I wanted to share that replying via email includes your signature here and you're welcome to edit the post and remove that element.

Next, in regards to submitting a ticket, you can always connect with our support engineers here.  In regards to your results slide, did you check that the user is still visiting the slide and that there is a trigger to "submit results" as that'll be necessary to send the info to an LMS.

In regards to your project, I don't see a trigger for showing the layer - and I'm not seeing that the slides you currently have are showing the updates to the progress meter either - so if you could narrow down the element that isn't working for you I can dig into it further.

Hi Ashley,

Thanks for getting back to me.

The trigger that shows the layer for completing the course is on slide
1.7. It's definitely there. I just tested the progress meter again. It's
working fine. You have to advance through quite a few slides to hit the
first 10% marker.

Slide 1.7 has triggers and conditions using variables that change the
section state to complete once the learner has viewed all of the slides in
that particular section. It also has the trigger to show the layer that
allows the user to complete the course and print their certificate once
they've completed all four sections. These triggers work just fine if I
take the progress meter triggers off of the slide master. So, the problem
is only present when the triggers are added to the master slide.

Hope that helps clarify things.

Maggie
