Sorry to hear about the trouble. Can you share a little more information, please?
Are you working with local project files?
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).
Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.
If you are working locally, can you tell me if this happens for only one file, or for any project you try to preview or publish? If it only happens for this one file, please try importing the original course into a new, blank Storyline file. If you need information on how to do this, please take a look at this article.
There are three of us who have recently started using Storyline and all three have experienced exactly the same issue as yourself.
The only thing that seems to work but even then it only works for a short period of time is to start a new project and import your course into it.
We had thought that it was possibly down to a corrupt file that we were using but this is obviously not the case now that other members of the community are having the same problem.
If you do find a fix I would be interested as we're still having to use the work around, the support team hasn't fixed this yet as far as we're aware.
I am also not able to preview my file. See the attached views that I get. Just a blank white screen. The audio doesn't play and nothing displays on the screen. I am accessing this file from my desktop. When I publish the course and upload it into SCORM Cloud, it plays fine. But I obviously need to make edits and sync the visuals with the audio. What do I do?
This thread is a bit dated, but thanks for reaching out here. This is something that seemed to bubble up over night with a recent release of Flash player and our Support engineers are hard at work on this issue. We've got some updated documentation here and a workaround and we'll keep folks posted on any additional information once we've got information to share.
Hi Leslie, thanks for the quick response. I followed the steps that you
outlined and uninstalled flash player. It seems that everything checks out
fine now, but I still cannot preview the file. What else can I do?
i uninstalled it and restarted my computer. Then downloaded and extracted
the Flash Player archive 20.0.0.228. It still wasn't working until I
restarted the browser and now it seems to be working just fine. Thank you
for the immediate response. I really appreciate it!
HI Leslie, it's not working anymore. I HAVE to finish this project. Is
there anyway I can get some help getting this to work? ANy idea when this
fix will be done?
I tried to follow the steps I did yesterday and it still won't work. This
is what is happening...
Good news! Adobe and Microsoft have fixed the Flash Player bug that broke many applications just before the new year, including Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, and Articulate Studio.
Did you look into the information Leslie shared earlier about the Flash version associated with your computer? Although that issue was some time ago, you could use the directions there to double check the Flash version and I'd recommend being on the latest update available to you. You'll also want to ensure you're on the latest update of Storyline 2, Update 11. You can download that here.
Please let us know if you're still having difficulty after checking into those items. If so, we'll want to know if there is a particular error message, or if it's only occurring with this particular file as well.

Hi Ashley!
Sounds like your system may be doing an auto-update perhaps.
Perhaps the details in this article will assist you in preventing your system from wanting to auto-update.
