I have problems sharing my published projects.

May 31, 2017

Hi,

I'm testing a course that will be hosted on Articulate online. I´m going to give a free sample, but I don't want them to use one of the spaces for users because I don't have enough yet.

I read the publishing tutorials and it said that I could use the CD option to distribute content via E-mail.

I've been trying all day and I can't open it anywhere but in my own PC (where Storyline is).

I don't have another server, and now I'm lost.

I enclose the zip file of the course.

Hope you can help me.

Hey Tannia,

I'd love to help here!

When you send the published output, make sure to have the receiver of the file follow these steps:

  1. Download the file from the email to your local drive
  2. Extract the file
  3. Double Click the Launch_Story.exe file to run the course

When I follow those with the course you've attached here, it runs on my computer.

Let me know if that works for you! ☺️

Hey Tannia,

Thanks for those details! This is expected behavior. To play the course on a tablet, you'll need to upload your published output to a website, Learning Management System, or Articulate Online and provide your users with a link to it.

If it's just for reviewing purposes, Tempshare is a quick and free way to get your course on the web. Follow these directions to try it out:

  1. Publish your course for Web making sure to include the HTML5 output.
  2. Select the "zip" option on the Published Successful window
  3. Drag your zipped published output into Tempshare
  4. Once uploaded, Tempshare will create a temporary internet link that you can share. The link will expire in 10 days, but it's a great way to test your course on the web and provide that sample you need.

We also have awesome tutorials to reference for how to get your courses up and running in the mobile world. Take a peek at the one for your version of Storyline here:

Skim through those and please let me know if you have questions!
