On your try again layer, your "Try Again" button is just hiding the slide. You will need to change that trigger to a jump to slide trigger and jump to the same slide you are on. You will notice that the original drag-able pieces will move back in the lower column. However, with a word bank, there is still an issue. The target spot will contain the content of the last item dragged. Since this is form based question, I am not sure there is much you can do about that value.
You ill want to make sure that the Slide properties are set to "Reset to Initial State" when revisiting. In the sample you up loaded, that had been set.
Just remember . . . your last choice will still be visible in the drop spot . . . It may be more confusing to the learner this way than the default behavior
Hi, Bo! Thanks for reaching out and I see that Ron has offered some really great insights to assist you here! Please feel free to stop back and let us know if you are all set or still need help. :)
I'm also having problems. I'm using Storyline 2 and a quizzing template. I need the user to select 1 answer then if incorrect retry. When the Try Again button is selected the 1st answer that was incorrect is still showing so the user needs to deselect and retry another answer.
I've checked with all layers using automatically decide and reset to initial state but still no joy!
That's the designed behavior so that the user sees how they previously answered and can try again. If you want the slide to be fully reset, and the "Jump to slide" and the "reset" slide properties aren't enough - can you share your .story file here so that folks can offer some alternative ideas and solutions? Sharing your file helps as then we can see exactly what you've set up so far!
Sorry to hear that you've run into an issue with this and it seems like Ron offered a great solution.
Would you be able to share your .story file so that we could take a look and understand what you have built and how we may be able to help you out here?
You can simply use the 'Add Attachment' option in the reply window :)
Not sure if you're able to see my attachment? The problem is when the user selects the incorrect answers the first time then the correct answers the second time don't register as correct.
Are you able to see now? The issue is the 2nd attempt on the actual quiz question isn't recognising the user is correct. When the incorrect pop up generates with the correct answer, the screen below shows the correct answers have been selected.
here is one way of doing it. I'm not a fan of 'reset to initial state' on quiz questions so I use the 'auto decide' revisit property and add additional triggers on the Try Again layer. I set the select3 variable default value to 1 as when the user attempts the question the first time and gets the try again layer they will be on their second attempt. I add the adjust variable trigger to the Try Again button not when they click Submit.
Hope this helps and I'm sure Ron will have a better way of doing it :-) - all the best with your project.

Okay
On Try Again - The Player triggers only hides the layer, so nothing is
thange when I came back - I get that.
But if I put a exstra trigger on try again with jump to 1.1. Question it
still don't chance back to the beginning on that slide.
So what trigger could make the slide change back to the beginning?

HI Karen
is this from the second attempt at the actual quiz question or when Retrying the whole quiz?
If you can share the .story file (not the published file) and let us know which question has the issue
What triggers are on your Retry Quiz button?
