I think Tom made 1 big picture(6 pictures in a row), then replaced the Default thumb of the slider to this big picture. He then gave the slider several States which would change accordingly when you slide(with triggers). In each new state you will have to replace the Thumb of the slider to a new image.
So basically his Slider has 6 states, each state highlighting 1 image and fading out the others. He probably edited these states in photoshop before hand.
I have attached a simple example, with only changing 1 image, but of course you can make the slider as big as you like!
Bob's got it right. I changed the state of the slider to change as it is sliding. I'm on the road, so I don't have access to the file. Here are the basic steps:
insert an image for the slider thumb.
create multiple states for the slider
set a trigger to change the state of the slider when slider moves and is = X
I did, Leslie. When I opened the file in Storyline 360, it was trying to upgrade the file but it showed error. I think I can understand what Tom was trying to achieve but would love to see it in action instead of visualizing.

Hi Shanna,
Thanks for reaching out here - and I'll ping our Community team as well so that they can offer some thoughts here on how this was designed as well.

Awesome, thanks so much everyone (and for getting back to me so quickly)!! I am going to try it out!
How did you change the image of the slider thumb?
Hi Dana!
Select Slider > Slider Tools > Format > Thumb Fill > Picture
Perfect. I knew I was missing something simple. Thanks!
Hi,
Try to see the example from the link above, but Chrome only load blank screen. Is there a way to see this example? or any similar examples. Thanks.
PS - I noticed the post itself was from two years ago.
You're right Ben. This thread is a bit older. That page does not load for me either.
Did you check out the .story file shared by Bob and the subsequent thoughts shared by Tom?
I did, Leslie. When I opened the file in Storyline 360, it was trying to upgrade the file but it showed error. I think I can understand what Tom was trying to achieve but would love to see it in action instead of visualizing.
The file opens for me without errors in SL360. See attached.
Cool. Thank you, Michael
Hey Tom - If found this thread today when I was wanting to put together a cool slider, but am a bit mystified still as to how your did it.
Are you able to post the example file?
Here's the file. Basically, I just added different states for the slider thumbnail. And the states changed when the values changed.
Not sure how practical the slider is, I just was messing around with some ideas.
