I Think I Found 2 BugS

Nov 19, 2015

1. I have a slide with a drag-and-drop matching quiz question.  I have also added some music and graphic to the slide (not sure if that is significant or not).  The bug occurs when I hide the object that contains the actual matching question block, leaving the other elements visible. When I try to preview the project, scene or slide or publish the project,   Storyline crashes.  once I unhide the element everything is fine.

2.  There is no way (that I have found) to get or set the exact ending position of a path animation.

Here is a part of my project that demonstrates the the two bugs I mentioned.

Slide 1 has a path animation.  However, there is no way (I can see) to get the ending position for the animation. When I select the path, and try to adjust the values it moves the entire path not the end point.

Slide 2 has a drag-and-drop matching question. Currently it is hidden.  When you try to preview the slide / scene / project or publish the project,  storyline crashes.  When you unhide the element everything is fine.

Hi Alex,

For the first question, you can move just the endpoint, or the start point of motion paths. You would need to select just the endpoint itself, then you can move it around without moving the entire path.

As far as your second question, I am still looking into this. I will let you know what I find out.

Hi Alex,

I can see that the Hidden feature is causing this, so I wanted to see if you could just leave it visible, as you have moved the drag and drop to a later starting point, so it will not show until 2 seconds in. Is there a reason you have it hidden from the timeline? If it is hidden, the users will not be able to access the drag and drop portion. I will report the crashing issue to QA for review, but I would suggest leaving it visible for the slide.

I was hiding it temporally to make it easier to work with and preview the other elements on the slide.

Back the the first issue of the path animation: I can move the start and end positions fine. The problem is precisely positioning the end position because when I inspect the object the numbers are for the start position, not the end.  This is causing a problem because I am trying to move some text beside some other text and it is difficult to be that precise with the mouse.
