I want to create a Template and when i am changing in template, this will reflect in all slides for which the template is being used.

Aug 23, 2016

Hi,

I am working on Articulate storyline projects. I am creating a template in storyline and using this template in so many slides. But now if I want any change in this template, I need to change all the slides individually.

So that my requirement is that when I create a template and using it in the slides. Now if I will change in template then this change will be reflect in all the slides where I was use this template.

Is there any process to do that or any option?

Please let me know if anything regarding my requirement.

Thanks,

Vishal Agarwal

Hey there, Vishal!  Just to clarify, are you using template files to create new projects?  Once you've created a .storytemplate, you can reuse that in your projects.  If you make a change to your template, it will be reflected in future slides/projects using that template.  It will not retroactively change any projects that used the template prior to the changes.

If you are working within a project, however, you might want to take a look at using slide masters and layouts.  If you change the slide master within a project, it will update all of the slides using that master.  This will work within one project at a time.

Hi Crystal,

Thanks for reply.

Actually i am completing my project. Now i need to change the layout of a template and this template is using on so many slides.

Now how can i change this? Is there any option to change in one slide and then it will reflect on all slides.

I was checked  that i can't open the .storytemplate file. i can just import that file and if i will change anything and save it. It will not save in same .storytemplate file.

If i will replace that template and import that template in my story file then files will not reflect.

Please suggest.

Select a slide you want to change. Click the View tab and choose view Slide Master. The layout being used by that slide will be highlighted. Make your changes to the master layout, and the slides using that layout will be changed. Alternatively, you can change the Master master, and the change will be propagated to all the layouts, and every slide, as well.

If the change doesn't show, it probably will if you save and reopen.

If i can change in master slide then i need to update functionality work in master slide. Right!

But i just use look & feel and functionality from the .storytemplate or master. I will need to update the content from the slides. Because this template use in another slides but text should be different in all the slide.
