I am using the trial version of Articulate storyline. Recently my computer has been affected by a condition that requires a system restore. Unfortunately, if I do perform the system restore, the Articulate Storyline will be uninstalled.
I do not want to lose the 25 more trial days that I have. If Articulate Storyline is uninstalled, can I reinstall it and have the same number of trial days as I have now?
That's unfortunate about your system. I believe we can all relate.
That's a great question. This may be a question for Articulate Support, but if you have to restore your system you're not only uninstalling the software (wiping the hard drive), you're also clearing out the registry where the key is located that evaluates your trial period.
My guess is when you download the trial version, you'll get a new 30 days.
The only thing you will lose are any .story files you stored locally on that system. If you saved your .story files to a an external hard drive or cloud server, all those files will not be affected.
Yes. However, if like in Aaron's case where he needs to do a system restore any files on that 'system' will be erased. It's best to back up your project .story files from your "My Articulate Projects" folder to an external hard drive often as a good maintenance plan.
Good practice to save all your files (including the .story files) onto external media, before carrying out a system restore.
If however, this isn't possible, and you'll be using the built-in Windows tool called "System Restore" then your files won't be erased and can still be found in the Documents folder after the restore process.

Can you save all your "stories" to a desktop/harddrive folder to access later?
HI Paula,

Alright, thank you for the advice.

Thanks Rutwin and Kevin for helping out Aaron and Paula here!
