Image quality reduction/artifacting and resizing

Hello!
I've been having a problem with images in Storyline looking artifacted or pixelated when previewed or published, and have tried various image file sizes, DPIs, and compressions to solve this issue. The only thing we have found that works is saving the image at a larger size (pixel wise) than you intend for it to appear in Storyline, then shrinking it in size inside of Storyline.
Has anyone else found a better solution to this problem? If you use this same method, have you found a specific percentage increase in size to create your images at?
Thanks!

Hi J and welcome to Heroes!
What type of image files are you working with - or are you seeing this across all image types? Also, can you confirm that your image files and your .story files are all being worked on as local project files as described here?
As a reminder, Storyline also works as expected when using a DPI of 96 as documented here.
Thanks for your reply!
It has happened in all image file types, I have tried saving images as 72 DPI and 96 DPI but it happens at either size. Our computers are set to 96 DPI. It doesn't happen every time I import and image, but some of the time. I will try saving the .story file locally.
Thanks!
Apparently it happens with local copies as well
Hi J,
Since it doesn't happen every time - can you tell us more about the times it does happen? Are those files once which you've been adjusting and manipulating or were they originally worked on from a network drive and then moved to a local drive? Maybe if you could share a sample problematic image here with us we could also take a look?
I was going to point you to the light blue male icon on the left as an example (it was the only image that came out looking rough in preview), but the quality of the entire screen shot was reduced in upload, so I guess that this kind of illustrates what the artifacting in the images look like when this problem does happen... if that makes sense
Hi J,
Thanks for the screenshot - and as you mentioned the overall quality of the screenshot is not matching the original slide, so it's difficult to see the change in the one image. Could you share this actual slide or the image file itself so that we could take a look at it in when importing into Storyline and how it displays outside of Storyline?
Just to confirm in this example, only the adult male icon is displaying incorrectly while previewing and viewing the published output?
