It could also be helpful to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline.
If you continue to see issues, please provide the Presenter package, as well as the .story file before you attempted the import, and I will attempt the process on my end to see if I encounter the same behavior.

I imported into a new file last night and it worked as expected. I have yet to import that new file into the larger one.
Hopefully that goes smoothly.
