Hi, when I import a PowerPoint it creates a border around all textboxes. There were no borders in the original PowerPoint. How can I prevent this from happening or change globally in Articulate after import?
Hi, Amanda -- So sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues! Please confirm that you used these steps to import your PPT into SL2. You may also want to try importing the file into a new file. If you are still having issues, you might want to try to repair Storyline.
Please let us know if issues persist, and we'll see what more we can do to assist. :)
Thanks for the reply. The instructions you gave were how I installed originally. I have tried to import the file several times and still facing the same issue, the text in all slides have a black border. The file is sitting on my local drive. I have also tried it with a differenct file and still the same outcome. Is there no setting that you can change to ensure there are no borders on text boxes when importing PowerPoint?
I will ask my IT dept to unistall and reinstall as your troubleshooting advises.
Please let me know if you think of anything else that could be causing the issue.
Hi, Amanda -- Please let us know if the repair steps do the trick and if issues persist, you are welcome to share your file with our Support Engineers using this form.
Hi, Amanda -- I see that you are working with our Support Engineer Ryan on case #00709927, and that you have replied to his email. He will be in touch shortly once he has had an opportunity to review your response. Many thanks for your patience, and I plan to continue to follow along with the progress on your case. :)
UPDATE: I wanted to stop back in to share the progress being made by our support staff while continuing to work with Amanda, as hopefully it will be helpful to others who may come across this thread with a similar issue:
When discussing a template that Amanda is using and whether or not that could be the source of the issue she is seeing, Ryan shared, "One way to quickly isolate this is by creating a simple file in PowerPoint with just 1 or 2 slides and not using your Template. This will let us know if the issue is really with the template that you are using or something else.
In the event that the issue does not occur with the new file, then we can say that this is really caused by the template and work from there."
Sorry to hear you’re also seeing black borders around the text boxes when importing your PowerPoint file into Storyline, Karen! This discussion is a bit older, but I still want to make sure you're covered as well.
It looks like Amanda's PowerPoint files were using the same Slide Master themes, in which our team recommended the troubleshooting steps right above your reply.
To help us investigate your particular case:
Are you able to publicly share your PowerPoint file with us here? Or, you can send it directly to our Support Engineers here if you prefer to send it privately.
Can I confirm what version of Storyline you're using?

I have the some problem in Storyline 360
Hello Alex,
Thanks for reaching out to share that you're experiencing an issue when importing your Powerpoint file into Storyline 360.
Looks like the issue shared above was specific to her file.
Would you be able to share the .ppt file that you are importing? I'd be happy to take a look.
