Import questions from diffrent .story productions

Sep 15, 2015

Hi everyone!

I want to combine multiple Storyline documentations into one single file. I'm using the import functionality and at a first glance everything seems to be working fine. However  when testing the functionality the result slides don't seems to be working as they did before. All answers are now wrong except for the last imported slides.

I thought this has something to do with the use of the same result variables (Result.PassedPoints and Result.ScorePoints). I have therefor tried to create new question and results slides in the production and copied the information to this slides. (This has worked in the passed.) However no new variables are created so the problem remain.

I can't share my files with you since this is a corporate production. Do anyone have experience with combining multiple productions into one and know how to solve the question issues?

Best Regard,

Madeleine

Hi Madeleine,

Are you using the same results slide for each to track all the questions or importing in the results slides as well? I may suggest looking at creating a new results slide and setting that up to track all the questions once you've imported it in.

If you need to share privately and are unable to do so in the forums, you're welcome to send along to our support team here.

Hi Ashley! I'm using separate results slide for each question. The production works when I create new result slides BUT I use 5 results slides per language version. I have 6 languages so there are in total 30 results slides that I need to redo manually. Since I uses the Storyline import functionality I expected the variables to update automatically when I  imported the file.

For the future: Is there an easier way to combine multiple productions  without creating the result slides afterwards?

Best Regard,

Madeleine

Hi Madeleine,

Our QA team is aware of an issue with importing in slides and the variables are renamed to the starting number or default name instead of keeping the name you set up or adding to the already existing list of variables. I'll include this thread in the report filed with our team so that I can keep you posted here, but in the meantime you'll want to look at inserting in the new results slides after you've imported in the Storyline files with the questions.
