If the text is displaying differently while you click in the text box, I'd first check that you're viewing the slide at 100% zoom. Viewing it at another zoom level could cause the text to look differently while viewing and editing. It's also worth noting that the import of Powerpoint into Storyline is not a one to one conversion as described here.
