Importing a world map from powerpoint - missing objects
Jan 02, 2020
Hi all,
I am trying to import a pptx file with a world map into Storyline. The file consists of many different objects, which I cannot group because I want to use different hover effects for each region and therefore I don't want to group them. When I try to import the file in Articulate Storyline, only part of the objects are imported (for example, North America and the location pins are missing).
Also, when I import the file with grouped elements and try to ungroup it in Storyline I get an error message saying that there are too many objects to ungroup.
Can someone please help me out with this issue? I have attached the PPT file.
Thanks a lot for your help!

Welcome, Frisse. You came to the right place for help!
When importing the PowerPoint file into Storyline 360 (Update 35), I also see the issue where certain areas and the location pins do not appear:
I'm going to share this behavior with our Support engineers to get a better understanding of what's happening during the import. You'll get an email from the team shortly, and I'll follow along!

Good morning, Frisse!
Thank you for the heads up regarding the email—I've shared Gerald's findings with the new one.
For those following along who may have run into similar behavior: We uncovered that freeform shapes in PowerPoint are converted to images when imported into Storyline.
