Importing animations into Storyline w/out using video files (created in Adobe Character Animator)
Jul 06, 2020
I’m hoping to use animations created in Adobe Character Animator in my storyline project. The export options for Character Animator are only video and PNG sequence. I knew PNG wasn’t going to work, so I was fine with using intermediary software to get it to a form Storyline likes. I found an Adobe After Effects extension that can render After Effects comps as .json files. But I don’t think this is going to work either. When I click on web object, it seems like a index.htm/l file is required, and the plugin doesn’t provide this – just a .json file. I’m a video editor by trade and know that, even highly compressed, video is not the most efficient method for getting content into this software. There has to be a way to get these animations into it in vector form, or something better than video. Can anyone offer any suggestions here?

Hi Lorin,
I see this is an old thread but did you ever find a solution to this?

BodyMovin, thats what he is talking in AfterEffects. Basically you can create a WebObject / external HTML page to load the JSON and Lottie/BodyMovin files. ( https://lottiefiles.com/ )
It is possible.... and also you can add animated SVG to Storyline...
