I have a new Storyline 3 project where I imported someone's interactive PowerPoint deck. I want the buttons to have the formatting and states I used in another project. Is there a way to import button formats and states, or do I have to recreate them in the new project? Do I have to do this on every slide, or is there a master button style I can create?
Happy to lend a hand! You can import a single slide that has the button formatting you want, then use the Format Painter in the Home tab to apply that button style to a button within your new project.
In terms of using a master button style, you can create a button in a master slide template, but keep in mind it will have to be in the same location on every slide you use it.

Check out this tutorial for more info on using buttons, like setting a default button style. Hope this helps!
Thanks! That's exactly what I did, minus the format painter.
