Hi Laurent,

Thanks for your post, and I'm sorry to hear that happened during the import process. A few questions and areas to check:

  • Is the PowerPoint slide size different from the Storyline slide size? For the best results, we recommend changing the slide size in Storyline to match the PowerPoint slide size before importing.
  • What version of PowerPoint are you using?
  • Working on a shared drive can cause oddities like this. Let's make sure that the files are stored on a local c: drive.

I'm hopeful we can sort this!

Hi Laurent,

It looks like the screenshots didn't make their way. Could you click this link to open our public chat and use the Add Attachment button to include the visuals in your reply?

Looking forward to having a look!

In the meantime, this article covers the steps to set the slide size in Storyline. You'll want to do this before importing the PowerPoint slides.

Hi Laurent!

Thank you so much for attaching those screenshots! It looks like the sizing should scale properly rather than cut off parts of the image.

Are you comfortable sharing the affected .story file with us? If so, you can attach it to this discussion by using the Add Attachment button or you can share it privately using this link. We'd be happy to take a look and offer a fix! So sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Lauren,
I kept on trying different approaches and finally succeeded in getting the graphics/images in my project to fit. I would still like to know a direct path or guide on how one can match the PPT slides with slide sizes in SL 3.

Thank you for the follow up on my question.

Hi Laurent,

Thanks for following up! In PowerPoint, as in Storyline, the default sizes of the slide are 4:3 (standard) and 16:9 (widescreen).

Assuming your Powerpoint size is one of those options, you can set the story size in Storyline to be the same, and the content should import as expected.

You may encounter some issues with assets, as not all features of Powerpoint will translate directly into Storyline. This article provides more details:

It's possible some of the issues you're seeing may be related to that, but if you'd like for us to take a closer look to confirm, our support team is just a click away!
